About Drala

Drala is a Tibetan word that signifies the magical energy of the world that all things are made up of. It is the energy of God/life… the powerful creative force that some of us call love. It is the basis of the mathematics that operate within this holographic universe. Tibetan Buddhist Chogyam Trungpa explains it as “the unconditioned wisdom and power of the world that is beyond any dualism.” For an in-depth explanation of “drala” visit: http://www.glossary.shambhala.org/
My art is a modern take on traditional Buddhist and shamanic imagery. I love to mix and match and reinterpret the archetypal elements that are found across all cultures. I draw from the inspiration of Tibetan Buddhism, Sumerian, Indian, and Japanese cultures, spirituality, metaphysics, and quantum physics. Each piece is a reflection of my ongoing studies.
My jewelry is made by printing my art pieces onto shrinkable plastic (yes, Shrinky Dinks!). I cut each jewelry piece by hand and then coat it with polish for shine and durability. The plastic is a durable non-toxic plastic, which is preferable for ensuring that your jewelry piece will keep it’s beauty for a lifetime. The plastic is also more comfortable to wear since some people’s skin is sensitive to different metals that are used in traditional jewelry making. The necklace chains and metal components I use are sterling silver plated to further protect sensitive skin types. Due to the nature of shrink plastic each piece is unique with slight variations in color and shape.
My shopping cart is run by Paypal so your credit card information will be processed privately and securely. Shipping is only $5 to the continental USA. The shipping rate is a flat fee, which means you can buy as many pieces as you want and you only pay $5 (or $15 for international).
